Destination Mollymook Milton Ulladulla

.

The Mollymook Milton Ulladulla area was fortunately spared from the surrounding bush-fires and local businesses are welcoming the tourist albeit there has only been a trickle at this early stage.

The scenery you will notice driving into our Mollymook Milton Ulladulla area will no doubt be an eye opener as the trees-cape along the highways on the north and south sides have suffered enormously from the unprecedented bush-fires. What may not be so obvious are the many homes destroyed (that are off the highway), a massive business downturn in the local towns of Mollymook Milton Ulladulla resulting in so many locals throughout the area without work or drastically reduced hours.

Cupitt’s Celebrate 5 years of brewing, December 2019

Besides operating an award-winning restaurant, making their own wine and a fromagerie they have branched out into making bespoke craft beers.  The Brewery at Cupitt’s Estate opened in December 2014 creating craft beer where the character and balance are paramount. At Cupitt’s, they revel in perfecting classic styles and pushing the boundaries of beer creating new ales every season. You can enjoy Cupitt’s craft beer seven days a week from their bar while enjoying a spectacular vista across the Black Angus grazing paddocks and beyond to Burrill Lake and the Budawang Ranges.

Highly recommended is the guided tour they provide of their wine, beer and cheese making facilities; tasting the products along the way.

Things to do visiting Mollymook Milton Ulladulla, a beautiful bush walk to Florance Head. A relatively easy flat walk of 8.5kms (return) say allow 2hr 45min (return) Enjoy some lovely flora and fauna along the way and some very active bird life for some beautiful photography. The highlight is at the end with majestic views over Pigeon House Mountain and the Budawang Mountains.

We reminisced on this ‘Florance Head’ bush walk of the bygone years when Bobby White would arrange our bush walks that included the Castle, Mount Bushwalker, Yadbora, Shallow Crossing, Ulladulla to Batemans Bay to name a few. He would share his decades of National Parks knowledge explaining and naming the different flora and bird life, he would even take a ‘Billy’ and boil some real bush tea. So on this occasion we took a book with directions and descriptions of the flora and fauna.

Directions: 8.5kms north of the Milton Post Office, turn left off the highway at Porters Creek Dam. Drive up onto an unsealed road for 10kms, reaching a T section. Turn left and continue for another 2.6kms, where you will  reach a fork lreft to a parking bay. (If you get to the dam, you have gone too far)

Chris and Sue: Retirement – This is the Life

Chris and Sue's Australian Odyssey,Australian Odyssey,Mollymook Ocean swimmers, mollymook beach waterfront

It is dry out here

G’day to all at Mollymook!

Well, after we returned to Far North Queensland we left the trusty motorhome in Cairns and headed up to “The Tip”, Cape York, in our eldest son’s 4WD and rooftop camper. Roughing it, with no shower and toilet, fridge, etc etc but SO much fun! The road was actually pretty good most of the way, having been graded for the school holidays. Nevertheless, we were glad we had not taken the motorhome as it may have turned into an IKEA flat pack given some of the corrugations and sudden dips in the road.

From Cairns to The Tip is about 2000kms return, and has some of the most isolated and vast, dusty outback in Australia. We really enjoyed the red red dust and sense of vastness, yet pulling up to a station for the night and finding heaps of other intrepid travellers. And when I say station, I mean old telegraph stations or working cattle stations, not Central Railway!

Most of the rivers and creeks are bone dry at this time of year, but there were a few croc free swimming holes which were wonderful. Water temp was 24 degrees, nice!

Melrose Memorable Moments

Wedding – Marriage Celebrant – Vow Renewals – Commitment Ceremonies – Baby Namings – Funerals

Julie Rynne

I am very passionate about what I do and I look forward to every wedding, like it is my first. I reside in beautiful Mollymook on the NSW South Coast and don’t sit still… I’m high energy, love a laugh and a chat and will give anything a go. I love to walk, ride, swim, eat and am partial to a glass of bubbles.

.I’m fortunate enough to be a full time celebrant, which allows me to be very generous with my time. The wedding ceremony sets the vibe for the whole day. A ceremony with real impact will be talked about for years to come. It’s so worth putting on a great show. Great Ceremony, Great Occasion, Great Memories.

Planning your wedding is no mean feat and everyone wants their say. It’s your wedding so remember, the choices are yours. Do yourself a favour and make it about the two of you. I strive to make sure you enjoy yourselves, first and foremost. I take my responsibilities as a Celebrant seriously and look forward to working with you both.
