Email from Graeme Wolfenden last night, and swimmers Garry H. and John L. asking me this morning for a progress update. So I sent an email to Chris who responded with the attached pages of his draft, progress to date. (This draft covers some of the introductory pages in response to Graeme W. kind request). I’m sure we will be happy with his finished product, he is an expert in this field. So here is a brief insight into what we can expect, a book about us Mollymook swimmers. (An error or two in this draft to be corrected).

Mollymook Golf Club’s trained young staff are here to make your dining experience, a memorable one!

.

Guests at Mollymook Beach Waterfront and the Beach View cottage are excited to hear that the Golfie will again serve its Tapas menus over Easter, similar to its great success over the past Christmas holiday period, albeit it will be upstairs in the cafe area rather than downstairs as was the case over Christmas. Besides lovely food you can enjoy the best ocean views in the district. Highly recommended by  guests from the award winning 4 1/2 star accommodation at Mollymook Beach Waterfront.

Gift Vouchers – Think Tallwood Restaurant

.

Highly Recommended, the purchase of a ‘Gift Voucher’ for use at the Tallwood Restaurant for that special person.

.

Tallwood eatery,Tallwood Restaurant,Gift vouchers,mollymook,Mollymook Beach Waterfront

Tallwood Restaurant – Owner and Executive Chef, Matt Upson

.

Some very dear guests visiting Mollymook and staying at the Mollymook Beach Waterfront accommodation became aware of my wife’s recent 70th birthday and graciously purchased a ‘Gift Voucher’ for use at the Tallwood Restaurant, one of, if not their favourite restaurant on their annual visit for holidays each January into this beautiful area.

On their card they wrote: “To the wonderful June, a little something to keep the birthday celebrations going”.

June was overwhelmed, she responded “what gift voucher could you give to someone that would be so useful, appreciated and enjoyed, as an evening at the Tallwood Restaurant.

We waited for the January Holiday rush to subside and then chose a carefree evening to savour the Tallwood Restaurant delights. For starters we chose ‘House sourdough and accompaniments’ an easy choice to enjoy with a recommended Pinot Gris wine.  Then the servings began. a) One of our favourites throughout the years since Tallwood opened is their ‘Portuguese fish cakes with saffron mayonnaise. We love this dish, so tasty! b) The twice cooked Duck leg followed with chilli vinegar, fragrant salad was mouth watering, so tender, the only way to serve duck in our opinion. c) Next we chose the market fish of the day, accompanied with eggplant, pomegranate, lemon, sumac. So tasty, the flours that accompanied the fish were nothing short of amazing.  d) We were already fully satisfied, the servings had been very generous, nonetheless as is my custom I had another dish on order. It was the beef rump with mushrooms ragout, silver beet and kipfler chips. Fabulous! The beef so tender and the accompaniments along with beans, broccoli, ginger and garlic filled with flavour.

Highly recommended should you be looking to give a gift to someone special that will be truly appreciated.

Winter Ocean Swimming at Mollymook

Mollymook surf club, mollymook ocean swimmers, mollymook beach,Mollymook Beach Waterfront

Early morning as the moon sets in the west behind the surf club

Mollymook surf club, mollymook ocean swimmers,Mollymook Beach Waterfront, mollymook beach

Looking east, a beautiful sun begins to rise

.

Mollymook Ocean swimmers believe the winter months can be the most idyllic time of the year for ocean swimming, albeit the water temperatures are lower, however  the ocean on many occasions can be smooth like a lake. It is a time when you experience spectacular sunrises, pods of dolphins and out further whales trekking north. Then during the day, Mollymook beach can be so picturesque with not a breathe of wind and in the evenings, spectacular sunsets even the occasional rainbow. This is Mollymook during the winter months.
