The Rise to Prominence!

.

Seasoned Mollymook ocean swimmer Bobby White returned from an inspirational trip representing Milton Ulladulla at the International Rotary conference held throughout this past week in Sydney.

Having rubbed shoulders with many International dignitaries and inspired by stirring speeches from the likes of the Prime Minister of Australia (whose own dad Dick was a Rotarian), the Premier of NSW, numerous motivational speakers that included a Para-Olympian plus international cricketer Brett Lee etc – Bob returned home filled with enthusiasm on his plans to make local Rotary relevant in the 21st century.

Bob is the current Milton Ulladulla “President in waiting”. His coronation into the top honcho’s job will take place among invited dignitaries on June 24, 2014.

At his 1st press conference, Bob opened up to the young reporter with some of his ‘left field’ plans. It is his intention to hit the road running and wants to leave a legacy of being a ‘Change agent’ in his endeavour to re-invent Rotary in the Milton Ulladulla area.

Bob is going to propose many changes, some quite radical in his attempt to move the elderly Rotarian’s out of their comfort zone. The following are some examples of the big plans being considered by this visionary Rotarian:
  1. Shock No 1: Below is a sneak preview of ‘change’ to their monthly bulletin. Bob is replacing the age old Kodak image of Ulladulla Harbour with a ‘girly’ photo at Mollymook Beach. (They are old Rotarian’s but this change ought to get theirs hearts pumping with memories of their youth when they use to look at girls.)
  2. Shock No 2: At a special forthcoming Rotarian and wives evening, Bob is considering inviting acclaimed motivational speaker Jack Nicholson to come along and share his graphic account of the “Love affair with the Duck”.
  3. Shock No 3: For their annual gala event hosting interstate Rotarian’s and dignitaries he is considering asking Graeme to do the organising. It will be an opportunity for this stayed old group to experience ‘Chaos’.
  4. Shock No 4: For the few elderly Rotarian’s left at the end of Bob’s reign, he is considering a hike to the top of ‘The Castle’ to ensure that by now they have been shaken out of their comfort zone.

Their motto is “Service before self“. Bob is of the belief that if he provides this aforementioned service to the local Rotary group, it ought to position them for far greater service, by being able to better deal with today’s issues afflicting the local community.
