• Reviews Rick Stein restaurant: For our 48th wedding anniversary we chose the Rick Stein restaurant Mollymook. What a glorious waterfront location on a balmy day with its sweeping ocean views. Numerous guests at our waterfront accommodation had been commenting in glowing terms about the Rick Stein – ‘Fish and Chips’ whilst others had waxed eloquent about his signature dish, the ‘Fish Pie’.Those two dishes were our choice for lunch on Dec. 24. They were each magnificent! So eight days later for our anniversary on January 1, 2014 we didn’t hesitate to once again enjoy the fine dining available at Rick Steins and choose those very same dishes. They did not disappoint! • Reviews Rick Stein restaurant: Dear June and Ken, We had a lovely lunch yesterday at Banisters. We were fortunate to have a window table which had a little more room than those in the inner area. Parking can be difficult but there is plenty of street parking nearby.On being seated, we were given complimentary olives and delicious bread with butter. We both had the fish soup to start, followed by the fish pie: not a pie as one would envisage as no crust to it but it was very tasty and enjoyable, as was the soup. For dessert, I had the Valrhona chocolate tart with raspberry sorbet and Mike had the roulade with creme fraiche and rhubarb coulis. We shared half a bottle of chardonnay ($31) which was also very enjoyable. The service was very good and we were on our way within a comfortable time. We would definitely recommend it and would advise booking early, especially if time is a factor. They were still seating diners around 2 pm and they were full from around 1.30 on with tables soon being relaid for the next clients.The Wednesday special lunch basically gave you a free dessert compared to the items being chosen from the main menu. However, depending on appetite and preference, it is still worth looking at the main menu as there is a larger choice and sometimes I may choose to have only 2 entrees instead of entree and main and usually do not have a dessert.
