Rick Stein Bannisters Restaurant Mollymook

Internationally acclaimed restaurateur Rick Stein chose the idyllic Bannisters Headland at Mollymook on the NSW South Coast to be the location for his Australian restaurant. Here he focuses on the abundance of freshly available NSW South Coast seafood. His menu highlights the unique seafood dishes that include king fish, trevally, snapper as well as local oysters, superb prawns, calamari, scallops and cray fish. Its not unusual to also have dishes on the menu utilizing his Asian culinary influence.

Foodies from a variety of countries across the globe make the Rick Stein restaurant a destination when in Australia, as do the local Aussie foodies from inter and intrastate.

Highly recommended is the Rick Stein Restaurant especially if you are a lover of seafood. Our recent visit was for their Friday lunch special. $48 per person for two courses from their menu is amazing value. Lovely decor, ambiance, water views, food and an extensive wine selection.

  • Rick Stein Restaurant Bannister’s Review: “For my wife’s 70th birthday we chose the the Rick Stein restaurant for dining with a local group of friends to celebrate this very special occasion. The signature ‘Fish Pie’ dish was magnificent and my wife commented that her ‘Pan fried Duck breast and crispy confit leg’ were cooked to perfection in spiced orange juice and shallots. Wonderful meal shared with lovely people.” Ken and June B. Mollymook November 2017

St Isidore Restaurant awarded a ‘Hat’

.

The 2017 ‘Good Food Guide’ awards have been released with the local Mollymook Milton Ulladulla area excelling as a ‘Fine Dining’ regional NSW area. Acclaimed ‘Foodie’ judges awarded points out of a maximum of 20 with a minimum of 15 required for 1 hat

Rick Stein was awarded 15 points and acknowledged for its excellent wine list. The judges wrote “A Mediterranean beachhouse with celebrity status in a boutique resort“. They went onto mention that Rick Stein and the South Coast are famous for their seafood, so it makes absolute sense that the only restaurant from the BBC’s beloved chef is rocking one of the best examples of fish and chips in NSW.

St Isidore was also awarded 15 points. The judges wrote “Self-sufficient farming and coastal produce among the gum trees“. They went onto mention “two things to keep in mind when making a reservation at this testament to seasonal cooking: book for lunch and ask politely for a seat on the verandah. While chef Alex Delly’s food is top-notch in any situation, it’s made all the more delicious when sitting outdoors, watching cows and clouds on the horizon and listening to gum trees mutter to each other in the breeze.

Gourmet Fish and Chips

Numerous guests over the summer months staying at our Mollymook Beach Waterfront accommodation had returned from the Rick Stein restaurant telling us how good was the Rick Stein gourmet ‘Fish and Chips’.

.

I thought why would you go to Rick Steins and choose ‘Fish and Chips’. Curiosity got the better of me, so my wife and I went not once but twice in the space of 2 weeks and on each occasion we were so impressed.

.

Without a doubt the best restaurant ‘Fish and Chips’ we have ever enjoyed!  Battered line caught salt water barramundi with thick cut chips, pea puree and tartare sauce.

.

And may I add, in such a tranquil setting on the deck, with a lovely view of the ocean below, savouring a glass of champagne.
