 The travels of Dougherty compared to his poor cousin

Dougherty’s travels: Whilst Dougherty jets off to exotic holiday locations throughout Indo-China mixing with all that Asia can offer and rubbing shoulders with Aussie expats doing it easy with Vietnamese wives. His poor Mollymook ocean swim mate Kenny packs his old Holden and heads up the road to holiday in a caravan park at Sussex Inlet with wife, grand child and two dogs, mixing it with the elderly, unemployed and meeting up with Mollymook expats, the Betts boys.

Culinary delights:  Dougherty’s poor ocean swim cousin has never had the experiences of his wealthy comrade eating rat, frogs, eels etc.  At Sussex you simply fish for your dinner and go prawning at night or miss a meal. (The rich librarians experiences / indulgences in so many delights, are all quite frankly out of the reach of people like his poor ocean swim cousin).

Accommodation: Dougherty stays at beach front hotels protected by sand bags and engages in expensive excursions such as bike rides from the jungle to the sea, accompanied by a pretty young lady in tow. His poor (Mollymook Ocean Swim) cousin is accommodated in a one room open plan design tent/camper with wife, grand child and dogs in tow. It’s all a distant memory for Kenny to have a fair young maiden in tow sky-larking like a teenager roaring down mountains on a bike. At least when Kenny goes swimming at Sussex Beach it is patrolled by none other than Superman Losal, backed up by the Betts boys.
