Mollymook Surf Club Members Excel at Branch Surf Championships

Mollymook Surf Club members traveled to Shellharbour on Sunday January 17 for the South Coast Branch Surf Championships. The Nippers did very well as reported in the Ulladulla Times newspaper, but not to be overlooked was the incredible performance of its Junior and Senior members.

The Mollymook Ocean Swimmers and their children who took part achieved some amazing results:
- Rob & Simone’s daughter Chloe was awarded: Junior Lifesaver of the year
- Rob & Simone’s children Chloe and Jamie each won medals
- John and Tracy’s daughter Melissa (14 years) was awarded medals in 3 different events
- John and Tracy’s daughter Dani (13 years) was awarded medals in 5 different events
- Paul B. daughter Eden was awarded gold in the board race
- Mon, Simone, Tracy and Chez were first in the ladies beach relay event
- Simone was awarded Gold in the surf board race and silver in the beach sprint
- Chez was awarded Gold in the 2 km race and bronze in the flags
- Simone, Tracy and Chez were awarded bronze in the board relay
- Tracy was awarded Silver in the flags
- Robbie was awarded Bronze in the surf board race
- Angus received Gold in the beach relay, board relay, Silver in the board and ski races and Bronze in the open iron-man and open swim
- Medals were also won by Mackenzi, Tony, Paul and Brett.

Simone won this ladies board race by the barest of margins, but according to Simone it was a sweet victory. (Ask Simone for a stoke by stroke description.)
