Mollymook Surf Club Presentation & Awards Evening – 2015
.
Prestigious Award: “Senior Male Life Saver of the Year” – John Holt.
.
Mollymook Surf Club President Rod Austin paid this tribute to John:
“John has been unbelievable in his service to the Mollymook Surf Club and in general to the larger Surf Life Saving movement. At Mollymook John has given so much of his valuable time, he has been so dedicated in helping out with the I.R.B.”
Rod critiqued John’s contribution as follows:
- 68 hours of patrol duty.
- Silver Medallion – Basic Beach Management.
- Senior 1st Aid Certificate.
- I.R.B. Crewman Certificate.
- Silver Medallion – I.R.B. Driver
.
Cheryl our young Ocean Swimmer and boat rower added: “On one weekend John did the I.R.B. on the Saturday morning patrol, filled in on the afternoon patrol, volunteered to help out when short the following morning and backed up with the afternoon I.R.B. patrol. HE DID I.R.B. FOR AN ENTIRE WEEKEND! Can you get your mind around that?
And how dedicated to the club he must be to leave Patrol No 3 to save Patrol No 6 from having no I.R.B. driver, missing out on weekends with gorgeous Chez and Anne Maree, what a sacrifice?
.
John’s response to all the accolades; was along the line that “I just love being part of the club“
.
A special thanks to Kim Matthews, the Surf Club’s official photographer for all the attached images.
