We prefer dining during the day rather than nightime and are always on the lookout for something nice in the Mollymook Milton Ulladulla area. On this occasion we ventured 5 Km south of Ulladulla to Burrill lake for lunch at the Lakeside cafe and restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised. Spacious with the choice of outside or inside dining. We chose ‘Calamari rings’ to share for an entrée and then for a main course my wife chose the ‘Grilled Smoked Salmon with mushrooms’ and I chose the ‘Prawn salad with avocado and mango’.
Each meal was exceptional and exceeded our expectations. Furthermore its BYO. It was excellent value for money, $57 total for a most enjoyable and delicious lunch.

Decked out in colourful swimming caps and speedos, thousands of keen swimmers took to Sydney’s Manly beach under pristine conditions for The Sydney Morning Herald’s ‘Cole Classic’ ocean swim this past Sunday. The ‘Cole’s Classic’ is THE BIGGEST ocean swim event on the NSW Ocean Swim Calendar and according to the results posted, 3591 swimmers took to the water this year, in its 33 rd year. .
The entrants lined up at Shelly Beach throughout the morning to race in the three events, swimming one, two and five kilometres to the finish line at the Manly Lifesaving Club. Each age category departed in waves at 10 minute intervals.
Mollymook Ocean Swimmer Gary Jenner was the winner of the Men’s 60 + years category in the amazing time of 36 minutes & 35 seconds. Fellow Mollymook Ocean swimmer and ACT resident Jill Pettifer came in first in the ladies 60 + years category in another fantastic time for ocean swimming: 40 minutes & 48 seconds for the 2 Km. Highlights a many, as the Mollymook Ocean swimmers represent the Mollymook Surf Club at the NSW Country surf championships / Surf Titles at South West Rocks. Big D was all nerves until the starter fired his gun and AWAY he went. I think he surprised himself at how well he went. Then there were our four beauty queens who row a boat in their spare time. In almost every race they were ‘slow out of the blocks’ giving their opposition a big advantage, however ‘youth prevailed’ and our ladies would mow them down one by one. Either the sweep got angry or they have awesome character. (Nothing harder than coming from behind in most races).
