BATHURST – RYLSTONE Road Trip

BATHURST – RYLSTONE,

Road Trip.

A little bit of nostalgia on this trip. 1st stop Bathurst to visit our ill, former next door neighbour. (Came via Turpentine Road, Nerriga, Goulburn, Oberon)

Next, a ‘drive by’ our old farm house we built back in 1972 at Meadow Flat. The white picket fence June painted every year and likened it to painting the Sydney Harbour bridge, (never ending) has long since disappeared, water tank and sheds all still standing but the country side was so barren and dry.

Then Portland and onto Kandos and Rylstone where we camped for the night.

It was so so HOT! Temp in mid thirties. Took Toby for a beer at the Rylstone Pub and later we enjoyed this magnificent red with dinner at the park. That was Monday.

Tuesday, left Rylstone about 11 am and took the Bylong Valley Way. These days fully sealed, very picturesque, about 100 kms long, only saw 6 vehicles on this stretch of road Later visited Potters Boutique Brewery.

2014 South Coast Branch Surf Life Saving Club Championships

In idyllic weather, Kiama Surf Club hosted the 2014 South Coast Branch SLSC Championships on the weekend of February 1 & 2.

Participating clubs included included Warilla-Barrack Point, Shellharbour, Kiama Downs, Kiama, Shoalhaven Heads, Nowra-Culburra and Mollymook.

Thanks to the season long coaching by Tony Ireland and Paul Burton, the Mollymook competitors put in exceptional performances against the strong competition provided primarily by the points score winning club Warilla-Barrack Point Surf Club.
