Mollymook enjoyed some great results at the N.S.W. Country Surf Titles

Some great stories emerged from the NSW Country Surf Titles but perhaps nothing more inspirational than the four Mollymook teenagers rowing at their first carnival who out rowed crews more senior than themselves to claim GOLD in the Under 19 female boat race. The teenagers consist of Eliza Green, Mia Garin, Kyla Wall and Chloe Scott. They row under the super competent coach and mentor Marty Drysdale.

The 180 ladies boat crew who just missed out on a medal at last years state titles, rowed well to claim a silver medal at this years country titles. The crew consists of Monica Mudge, Tracy Holt, Cheryl Garin and Simone Scott with the ageless and experienced Garth Brooks their sweep.

The 180 ladies boat crew call themselves the Mollymook Mermaids. They rowed very well to claim the Bronze medal in the 180 age category. The crew consists of Sue Whitford, Lesley Gagin, Leonie Hicks, Stacey Wilesmith and sweep Len Bollin.

Another amazing story, their first ever race start and they must have rowed into the biggest waves on the day. As some greeted them later with the line ‘Welcome to surf boat rowing.’ This unlikely crew consists of Aaron Owers, Ben Clayton, Simon Davies and Andrew Rushton with Marty Drysdale their effervescent sweep. They received a Bronze medal for their gallant efforts.
