Winter Swimming in tropical water conditions
Winter swimmers at Bermagui and Narooma
.
The Bermagui Winter Swimmers meet at the Bermagui ‘Blue Pool’ on Sundays at 9.00 am and are known as the ‘Blue Balls’.
The Narooma Winter Swimmers meet on the south end of Bar Beach 9am every Sunday during winter and call themselves the ‘Narooma Numnutz’. There were 28 swimmers of all ages taking the plunge this past Sunday into a warm 19 degree water.
The swimmers rode the strong outgoing tide then swam hard to get out of the current and back onto the beach north of the breakwater. There were warm drinks at Bar Beach before the swimmers headed to O’Briens Hotel for more refreshments, fines and minestrone soup. (Credit Narooma Times)

Dougie hasn’t been his mischievous self of late. He went for a check-up and ‘out of the blue’ was told he need a pace maker fitted. What? ………….. The swimmers wish Dougie a speedy recovery.
Jody and Simone competed in the ‘Noah’s competition and word has it that on the bike leg Simone was traveling so fast she missed the turn-off and ended up covering an extra few Km. Darn it! She could have gotten first place rather than settle for 3rd.
