Peter the Priest at Mollymook   1-Thess: 5-17 Pray without ceasing

 .

Ross M. sends this image of him joining in with the Sunday morning swimmers, Budapest style. He claims to be the good looking bloke somewhere in the middle and of note, he is not wearing a wetsuit as the water temp was 35 degrees. Ross and Sue are presently doing the cruise from Budapest to Amsterdam.

Peter the Priest led the service at Mollymook Beach this morning. He centered his message around the scripture 1 Thessalonians 5:17 “Pray without ceasing”. He also shared the joke when a young man entered the confession box and said “Father I have sinned”. The Priest answered: “I know, I’m on Facebook”.

Mercy Africa Boat: The earlier post generated a lot of interest. Graeme sent through this additional update:

On channel 7 TWO this coming Sunday 2nd November, from 7.30 to 8.30 a presentation called “Mighty Ships” will be shown. This showing is all about the Africa Mercy, not the medical services provided, but all of the issues and challenges that have to be overcome in order to keep the ship fully operational so that it can perform its function as a hospital ship in Africa.

Last December, SBS featured “The Surgery Ship”, Australia wide. The vimeo link to this presentation is for private viewing only, as we are working toward the possibility of having it shown again on SBS, Australia wide, in the future. Many who have watched this vimeo, found it to be emotionally challenging in parts. It does not gloss over anything and tells the story “as it is” both in respect of the causes for celebration as well as the deep disappointments. It is a well put together documentary.

Following this showing by SBS, we were approached by Channel 7 personnel who became very interested in producing their own documentary on the work of Mercy Ships. We arranged for one of their film crews to visit the Africa Mercy earlier this year. Their presentation has been put together and we are waiting on confirmation of the viewing date and time. We have been advised that it will be shown on Channel 7 Australia wide in prime time on a Sunday evening. This will be an excellent opportunity for us to lift our profile and I will let you know when we know the viewing date and time. We are hopeful that it could be before Christmas but will have to wait on advise about this.
