NSW R&CA Awards: ‘Small Bar’ Winner, Bannisters Mollymook

James Halliday awarded Cupitt’s Winery, Ulladulla with 5 stars

(Sir) James wrote: “Cupitt’s Winery have been knocking on the door for a five-star rating for a number of years and blew it wide open for this edition of the Wine Companion. The tourist mecca of the southern NSW coast around Ulladulla is both blessing and bane. It’s not a natural region for high quality grapes, nor a magnet for wine tourists. The Cupitt family, led by winemaker Rosie, has walked around the problem by buying grapes from regions as far as the Yarra Valley. The result is that the quality of the wines and the modesty of the prices is as commendable as it is unusual”.

Gourmet Traveller 2018 Australian Restaurant Guide recognises St Isidore Restaurant

The September 2017 issue of Gourmet Traveller listed their 2018 best restaurants guide. They wrote that their team spent more than half the year with knife and fork in hand visiting restaurant after restaurant to establish the best that would be awarded one, two or maximum three stars. They rated our local St Isidore restaurant sixth best in regional NSW and awarded them one star. They wrote that chef Alex Delly (a Rick Stein protege) has that unique ability to achieve balance and finesse, his seafood skills are another attraction. Besides fine food, the unflappable and warm service as well as sweeping views of lush, coastal farming land top off a relaxed rural dining experience. In addition they were awarded φ φ glasses for an outstanding selection of wines.

NSW’s South Coast better than Byron and the Gold Coast

Paul Ewart of news.com.au recently claimed the NSW’s South Coast to be better than Byron and the Gold Coast. He wrote quote: “WHILE the NSW northern coastline has had the lion’s share of the limelight (hello, Byron Bay!) times they are a changin’. Nowadays, savvy travellers are forgoing the well-trodden, obvious beachside haunts of the north and are instead increasingly waking up to the possibilities that a trip to the south can bring.

With breathtaking scenery, one-of-a-kind wildlife encounters, crystal-clear waters, record-holding beaches, celebrity chefs and world-class wineries and surf; the NSW South Coast is brimming with unforgettable experiences”.
