Cupitt’s – NSW Tourism Awards – GOLD

.

Mollymook Surf Club: Awarded $5000 for their efforts in promoting the Shoalhaven RID (Report Illegal Dumping) program. The prime mover of this program within the surf club is the effervescent energised Monica Mudge who has also been responsible for the partnership with council in the ‘Take 3 for the Sea’ initiative. viz ‘Take 3 items of rubbish from the beach’. Both initiatives are designed to achieve beautifully clean beaches in the Shoalhaven.

Cupitt’s Restaurant and Winery: The 2016 NSW Tourism Awards were announced on November 25. Cupitt’s Kitchen was awarded the best Tourism Restaurant in the State and also won gold for the Best Winery Brewery and Distillery. Link to: Cupitt’s Kitchen & Winery

ANNUAL CHRISTMAS ART EXHIBITION. Millhouse artists are showcasing their latest work in the Ulladulla Civic Centre (downstairs opp. harbour) opening 1pm on 28th December to 8th January. It opens daily from 9.30am-4pm and admission is free.

SUMMER ART EXHIBITION AT MILLHOUSE COURTYARD GALLERY MILTON. Opens weekends and school holidays from 10am to 4pm.

South Coast Food Alliance. The Rick Stein, Tallwood, St. Isidore and Cupitt restaurants combined to put on their second long table. This one was titled ‘Earth – Wind – Fire + Water’. The Fish Shop. Owner Zoran Praja a former fisherman knows his fish. Each morning he takes delivery of whole fish straight from the local trawlers, including his son Alex, who ply the south coast waters. He then cleans and fillets the fish at his shop. His is the only local fish shop selling local fish same day, within hours ‘from the trawler to customer’. Whale and Dolphin Watching / Photography

Whales-and-Dolphins. In October and November we experienced so many whales moving south with their calves and some accompanied by pods of dolphins. Whilst the whale watching season is now finished you can still have an enjoyable cruise dolphin watching on the dolphin watch cruises that operate out of Jervis Bay. Approximately 240 people attended the Gala Presentation evening of The South Coast Tourism Awards at HARS (Historical Aviation Restoration Society) Museum Illawarra Airport Albion Park on Wednesday 26th October.
