The Historic town of Milton is stunning, says Collette Dinnigan in the recent April-May issue of the ‘Australian Traveler’ magazine that lists “100 Amazing Places You Haven’t Been To Yet“. Accolades for Cupitt’s Winery and Rick Stein at Bannisters

Cupitt’s Winery has been named the best cellar door in the Shoalhaven region by the Gourmet Wine Traveller Magazine. The award is a national and independent accolade based on the winery’s overall cellar door experience. This is the third year in a row that Cupitt’s have taken out the National award.

Spotlight: Tourism awards & Tipsy Fig Restaurant at Milton.

The 2015 South Coast Tourism Awards were launched by South Coast Tourism Board Chairperson Catherine Shields along with Mayor Jo Gash, supported by the Milton Ulladulla Business Chamber members at the Ulladulla Civic Centre. The gala awards ceremony will be held at the Ulladulla Civic Centre August 26, 2015 with the announcement of the category winners. The economic significance of the tourism industry in the Shoalhaven was demonstrated via the ‘Statement of Economic Impact’ that reflected tourist spend of $629 million and the employment of 5,080 direct full-time jobs and 2,790 indirect jobs in the Shoalhaven.
The Tipsy Fig Restaurant, Milton has being wowing customers with one local ‘Foodie’ couple having booked 4 times during the past 8 weeks. It boasts a modern Australian cuisine, chef Daniel provides a great menu selection and the service from Vicki and Lauren is exceptional.
The Tipsy Fig is A MUST VISIT when next in the area.

Mollymook Surf Club
.
Mollymook Surf Club was the venue this past weekend for the NSW State IRB Championships. It is the premier event for NSW competitors with individual races designed to simulate real-life rescue situations involving patients and mass rescues.
The Mollymook boat crew on its return from participating in the centenary Anzac Day ceremony at Gallipoli. They were among 200 boat rowers who participated with other Australian, New Zealand and Turkish boat crews in a re-enactment of the landing at Gallipoli. Mollymook Surf Club were honoured with a beautiful glass encased trophy of ‘Simpson and his donkey’ for the best presented boat which featured the names of Milton-Ulladulla residents killed in Gallipoli and Europe during World War 1. The Mollymook surf boat was donated to the Turkish Government and will be placed on display at the University of Istanbul’s Maritime Museum.

Kidgeeridge Music Festival
.
Kidgeeridge Music Festival held during May was claimed a huge success despite the inclement weather. This years event was held at the Milton Showground for the first time with profits distributed among local charitable groups.

Ulladulla Oyster Bar & Golfie Wine tasting
.
Ulladulla Oyster Bar was the scene for filming of an up and coming documentary promoting the “Oyster Coast”. Well worth a visit if you love oysters! For more information follow the link: Ulladulla Oyster Bar
The Mollymook Golf Club was recently quite innovative, inviting local wine enthusiasts to a wine tasting evening hosted by 20 or so leading wineries and merchants who provided their wines for sampling. Questionnaires were completed for consideration by management on the wines they would consider supplying guests during the coming year.

South Coast Wine Festival, Queens Birthday Weekend
.
The South Coast Wine Festival held over the Queen’s Birthday long weekend was once again a great success eating a variety of accompaniments whilst sampling the many wines on offer.Supporting live music was provided at both local vineyards.

Whales and Dolphins greet local visitors.
.
Whale migration: Tourist have been treated to a large number of whales traveling north during this present migrating season. Local ORRCA volunteer Moni M. was at the Ulladulla Headland participating in the annual whale census this past weekend and counted 49 humpbacks making their way north to warmer waters.
Mollymook Dolphins: Part-time resident Dick M. was traveling along Mitchell Parade early in the morning looking for a surf with his surf board. Spotted the dolphins and with his camera always by his side, pulled over and took a number of great images of the dolphins surfing the waves.

Great Fishing & Ocean Swimming during Winter
.
Fishing News: Chris Hollins is pictured with this amazing ‘dusky’ flat-head he recently caught near Mollymook. It measured 97.5cm and weighed 7.5kg
Mollymook Ocean Swimming: The water temperature is approx. 17 to 18 degrees, the surf ideal for starting the day with a swim followed by a coffee at the Mollymook Beach Hut Cafe prior to work.

Surf Board Riding at Mollymook
