- Merry Street restaurant was worth the hike from Mollymook to get there! We were a bit sceptical that a restaurant in such a remote location (and fairly nondescript surrounds) could live up to the many recommendations we had received from the Mollymook locals, but it did. The food was pretty simple but very fresh and really great flavours, much of it supplied within the region. Most (if not all) the wine and beer is sourced locally which gave us an opportunity to try some new wine (which we then bought from Milton IGA the next day!) although such a limited geographic region of wine and beer may not be to everyone’s liking. - As a party of 10 we enjoyed exceptional dishes that delighted the taste buds in every possible way. The quality of food and presentation is comparable with the very best of restaurants. Ken & June. Mollymook December 2012
- We are travellers and fine food lovers who, over the last two years, have enjoyed many meals at the licensed Merry Street Restaurant and Bar in Kioloa/Merry Beach. Whether it has been the Thursday Night Special (where, alphabetically, a different country’s food is featured each week in a set menu, two courses for less than $30), whether it has been an a la carte dinner on a Friday or Saturday night ($110-$130 for 2 people including wine), a special event meal such as a Slow Food long lunch, a Melbourne Cup gala, a multi-course degustation, special wine dinners or just a Sunday Breakfast , we have experienced the lot. And we keep coming back for more and taking our friends with us because Merry Street’s food experiences are as good as one will find in regional Australia. Bill & Philippa November 2012
- One of the many outstanding restaurants we recently dined at was the Merry Street Restaurant and Bar near Bawley Point. The table service was first class in a very relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere . The selection of dishes we chose from the restaurants gourmet menu was beautifully presented and very generous in there servings. Bill and Bianca R. Mollymook.
