Things to do in the Mollymook Milton Ulladulla area: The Pigeon House Mountain climb is a “MUST DO” for those that are “FIT” visiting the Mollymook Milton Ulladulla area. An estimated 8,000 people making the climb each year. Allow 4 hours. We left early in the morning and had breakfast on the summit. Majestic views are enjoyed at sunrise. On a clear day you can see the entire coastline from Point Perpendicular in the north to Mount Dromedary in the south. (Walking trail maps used with permission)
Captain Cook & Sir Joseph Banks wrote about this remarkable peak back in April 1770. The Aborigines of the Walbanja and Wandandian tribes called it Dithol meaning a woman’s breast or Did-Del. From the top of the mountain there are magnificent panoramic views of the rugged cliffs and gorges carved by the Clyde River and its tributaries. Dominating the view to the north-west are two elongated plateau of Byangee Walls and the Castle. My wife and I can confirm the majesty of this “Hike” and the glorious views in all directions, once on top of the peak.
