Bucket List accomplishment, Cape York.
Christina writes: Rodney and I have made it to the “Tip” (Pakinka ) Cape York, the northern most point of mainland Australia. It is within the Shire of Torres in Queensland. Another beautiful destination to cross off our ‘Bucket List’. A long and splendid drive from Mollymook but unfortunately no ocean swimming on Cape York as waters are infested with Crocodiles.
The drive from the black top was along fairly rough roads and a real wilderness experience, but so worth it, to be able to stand at the northernmost point of the continent. Even from the car park it is a rough 1 kilometre track over rocks to the Tip sign, but well worth the effort. Expect to be back in the water at Mollymook Beach mid August. Best wishes to all Christina and Rodney.
