Tallwood Eatery’s popular ‘Chef’s Choice’ is back on Monday nights. It is a wonderful locals night (also open to visitors) that received a great response last year. For $50 a person they will cook you an amazing 3 courses and pair a red and white wine for you to enjoy with dinner. In 2016 Tallwood became part of the Responsible café society. This is a collection of establishments that work together to discourage and minimise single use waste and plastic. Tallwood offer a discount of 50 cents if you bring a reusable coffee cup for your take away coffee. Other ways you can help and get involved – refuse straws with your drinks, sit down at the restaurant to enjoy your coffee and snack instead of take away, think twice before ordering a coffee in a take away cup to sit in and don’t forget to ‘take 3 for the sea’ when heading to our wonderful beaches. The 2017 NSW Surf titles were held in huge seas at Swansea Belmont 3 weeks ago. The massive surf resulted in all water events cancelled on the Wednesday and then only selected water events including the iron-man, surf board and surf ski races were run on the Thursday as they were unable to anchor the string of swimming buoys that were constantly being smashed by the waves breaking way out beyond the swimming buoys.

The ‘Blessing of the Fleet‘ is a huge spectacle held annually on Easter Sunday with the parade of floats starting the day as they head down the Princes Highway and onto the Ulladulla Harbour watched by 1000’s of spectators followed by local clergy performing the traditional blessing ceremony of the Ulladulla fishing fleet. (Many eyes this year will be on the Mollymook Golf Club float prepared by the CEO in his spare time with the help of a few others. ‘A labour of love’)
