Fathers Day – Tallwood Restaurant Mollymook

.

Clayton Till – Host Extraordinaire.  It was ‘Fathers Day’ so we ask our host Clayton to choose our menu.

The 1st dish to arrive was ‘Raw Fish’. Never would I have chosen raw fish in my wildest dreams. It was absolutely magnificent! It was accompanied with a fabulous bottle of Hunter Valley ‘Levin’ Chardonnay.

The 2nd dish was spiced prawn cake. “I was blown away”, awesome!

The 3rd dish was a vegetarian plate. My mind was spinning, “Why a vegetarian plate, after the two previous magnificent dishes”? My wife and I tasted it and both agreed, you could not fault the ‘Heirloom carrots, labneh with the date puree’. It was an excellent compliment.

What would the 4th and final dish be we pondered to finish lunch? The servings were spot on with just the right ‘wait period’ between courses. Here we were serve an wonderful ‘crispy szechuan duck with scallops’. It was filled with flavours that would satisfy the most discerning customer. My wife loves duck and the consensus was over whelming – Magnificent!

Highly recommended!

Gorgeous weather in Mollymook presents an opportunity to check out what the locals do for entertainment and keeping fit.

Life is good living in one of the most beautiful addresses on the NSW South Coast. Nonetheless its good to get a sneak preview of the comings and goings of this mostly unique group. Idyllic conditions were perfect for a short drive to the snowfields for some end of season skiing at the snowy, others chose early morning Mollymook ocean swims whilst others took off for a trip to Qld. NOTE: (Top right pic) Among the ocean swimmers, unlike the soft men, Karelle has no need for a wet suit.

Hawaii – Hanalei Bay Ocean Challenge

.

9th Annual Hanalei Bay Swim Challenge

Kim and Colin have just participated in the 9th annual Hanalei Bay Swim Challenge on the stunning island of Kauai in Hawaii. The three kilometre swim was held in flat 26 degree water with Kauai’s dramatic green mountains as a backdrop. Not surprisingly Colin swam well finishing 5th outright and 1st in his age division. Kim kept the Byron Bay flag waving coming a very respectable 29th overall and placing 2nd in her division much to her delight. They now head to the U.S. mainland for more adventures in and out of the water. They plan to meet up with Val and Grant and provide a stoke by stroke entire account of the swim.
