Lot 31 Restaurant & Bar, Cowra

Cowra is home to some fabulous boutique wineries and rural retreats, and is just a four hour drive west of Sydney. We drove up from the South Coast town of Mollymook. I asked the locals for their recommendation for a good local restaurant. Without hesitation they said Lot 31, a Restaurant & Bar located in the main st.

WOW! What a find. Here in this sleepy rural town was the perfect place to enjoy dinner in a contemporary setting. There is a good selection of beer, cider and local wines. This little unassuming place was well worth the visit. The service is relaxed and would put any top restaurant in Sydney or Melbourne to shame. But it was the food that shined. For an entree we shared a mixed seafood tapas. It was excellent and a good size serving. For mains my wife loves her lamb whereas I love good “eye of the fillet” beef. They did not disappoint. Magnificent food prepared by a top young chef, Richard Morgan and I can’t speak highly enough of the service.
